U18 Boys win V Ardnaree

On Tuesday last, our minor boys had a good away win over Ardnaree on a scoreline of 2.18 to 4.08.

After a slow start, Kiltimagh found themselves trailing 1.01 to no score. They settled in as they slowly reached game speed and rattled off 1.08 without
replay, with Sean McDonnell hitting 1.02 from play. This was backed up by points from Luke Cummins, Daniel McNicholas, Con McDermot, and 3 from Conor Hession, leaving the half-time score Kiltimagh 1.09 Ardnaree 1.03.

The second half was end-to-end, with points being tagged on by both teams. Then Cuan Gill found the back of the net to put daylight between the teams, but from the resulting kick out, Ardnaree went straight down the field and hit right back with a goal. Moments later, at the other end of the field, Jack
Shannon kicked a huge 2-pointer, followed swiftly by a point from Tom Smith and another from Shannon.

Ardnaree were not done yet and kicked 1.02 without reply to draw the game level with eight minutes remaining. That was to be their last score as Kiltimagh finished the stronger with points from Donagh Bigley, Conor Hession, and a magnificent 2-pointer by Con McDermot.

Cameron Farrington in goals, and the defence, led by Eoghan McGovern, Rian Freeman, Conor Gilmartin, Johna Gill, Donnacha Kelly, and Donagh Bigley, worked tirelessly throughout. At midfield, Tom Smith and Conor Hession dominated, and up front, Sean McDonnell, Jack Shannon, and Con McDermott were constant threats. Substitutes Cian Carroll, Noah Byrne, and Harry Ward had a big impact in the latter stages of the game.
