All-Ireland Semi-Final
Feb 6, 2010, 11:05 am

Never has the town seen such feverish excitement building up as it has due to the Club’s appearance in the All-Ireland Final on Valentines Day. The town is becoming a mass of blue and white and everybody is getting involved to show their support for the team. The team and management had great words to say for the effort made to erect the flags and bunting prior to the semi-final and they said it really gave the team a lift. They must be delighted with the effort being made for the final. It is hard to describe the great pride that all Club members have due to the heroic efforts of the team in reaching the final. Although the bookies have Castlegregory as red hot favourites, and were you to believe the press we should not even bother to turn up, but we all know the great spirit and determination that these young lads have and we know that they will give this their best and, when they do, they are capable of beating any team in the country. The Club, players and management are astounded and humbled by the huge volume of good wishes flowing in from all corners and from other clubs in Mayo and by the great effort of people in Kiltimagh to provide assistance to the team, financial otherwise. It truly shows what a great community we have here in Kiltimagh. The fact that we are playing a team from Kerry adds a little extra dimension to the game and it would be nice to show that a Mayo team can beat a Kerry team in an All-Ireland Final!

Feb 6, 2010, 11:04 am

This Historic weekend for Kiltimagh and the GAA Club kicks off on Thursday night with a table quiz in Ryan’s Bar. This will be a table quiz with a difference where the questions will certainly have distinct sporting flavour. While there will be a fund raising element (as usual) to the night, it will generally be one for a bit of craic and entertainment to get people focussed on the weekend ahead. The quiz will kick off at 9.30pm and entry fee is €30 per table.

Due to the exceptional demand this year people should reserve their tickets early so as to avoid disappointment.

Intermediate Championship Draw.
Feb 6, 2010, 11:00 am

Moving away from Junior football for a while, the Draw for the 2010 Intermediate Championship took place on Wednesday night, 3rd February 2010. The draw for Kiltimagh is a tough one with a repeat of their 2007 journey down to Belmullet on the cards. The club are favoured with 2 home draws, however, and we will play host to the considerable challenge posed by Bonniconlon and Mayo Gaels in Gilmartin Park.

Kiltimagh through to All-Ireland Final
Feb 6, 2010, 10:58 am

Kiltimagh 1-10 Emyvale 1-05

Kiltimagh’s Junior team made history in Longford on Sunday when they qualified for the All-Ireland Junior Club Championship final. In doing so, they became only the third team from Mayo to reach the All-Ireland decider. Kilmeena and Belmullet both fell at the final hurdle so here’s hoping Kiltimagh can bring the cup back to Mayo on this occasion. This team once again showed their mettle, coming from behind to turn a 4 point deficit into a 5 point win. Make no mistake this was a marvellous encounter. Don’t let the 5 point margin give the impression this was a comfortable win as the coilltes had to dig deep into their reserves of spirit and determination to pull this one out of the bag.
